EMT Programs
Description:
EMTs provide a basic level of emergency care. This includes basic life support (CPR and automated external defibrillation), oxygen therapy, bleeding control, splinting and bandaging, and basic care of medical emergencies such as heart attacks, stroke, breathing problems and unconsciousness. EMTs are permitted to administer a few medications, such as oxygen, oral glucose for diabetics, and in some locations, aspirin for heart attacks. EMTs may assist patients in administering their prescribed medications such as nitroglycerin for heart attacks and an inhaler for breathing problems.

Wilderness Medicine
Description:
The Wilderness Medicine program offered by the Idaho Center of Emergency Medical Training covers many different disciplines of care, training rescuers to be comfortable in a setting where access to standard Pre-Hospital care is most often difficult to achieve in a timely manner.
These programs are designed to fit into any persons desired training, from the avid hunter to a remote mountain guide. Our office even offers a Wilderness add-on module for existing EMT's to get the extra knowledge base for wilderness care. All of our Wilderness Instructors have hundreds of man-hours of experience in actual Pre-Hospital care in back country settings.

Expanded Function - Dental Assistant
Description:
The Dental Assistant is a key member of the Dental Team. The chairside assistant's role is to efficiently and professionally assist and facilitate the Doctor with all procedures. Dental assistants are also critical in the management of patients, making them more comfortable and helping them to understand treatment decisions while simplifying treatment in the chair to make each procedure move more quickly. The Expanded Function Dental Assistant has additional skills that increase the likelihood of being a beneficial dental team member. Expanded function assistants are able to take alginate impressions, place sealants, perform the coronal polish portion of a dental cleaning, fabricate temporary restorations and administer nitrous oxide for patient anxiolysis.
