EMT Basic Course
Description:
The Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) Training Program prepares the student to provide emergency medical care to victims of accidents and sudden illness. Emergency Medical Technicians provide routine and emergency medical care with an ambulance service or fire department, as well as in hospitals and clinics. EMT Basic is the first step in the career of Emergency Medical Services and becoming a Paramedic. Students in this course develop skills in symptom recognition and emergency care procedures and techniques.
After completion of the course, the student is eligible to test with the National Registry of EMTs. Successful completion of this exam enables the student to apply for and gain employment within their scope of practice.
The EMT Basic course is designed around a core 120 hours of didactic (lecture) and 20 hours of hands-on clinical experience. Our full-term course meets two nights a week from 6:00pm to 10:00pm in order to accommodate our student's busy schedules.

EMT Basic (Fast Track) Course
Description:
The Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) Training Program prepares the student to provide emergency medical care to victims of accidents and sudden illness. Students develop skills in symptom recognition, emergency care procedures and associated techniques. Emergency Medical Technicians provide routine and emergency medical care with an ambulance service or fire department, as well as in hospitals and clinics. EMT Basic is the first step in the career of Emergency Medical Services and a building block in obtaining the skills to become a Paramedic.
The Fast Track program is designed as an intense class schedule to allow for completion within 4-6 weeks. Students should expect a rigorous schedule including full weekday classes from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The student will be responsible for gaining clinical contacts during the remaining two days of the week. Students should plan to devote the entire week to the course study. Students in the fast track course are routinely monitored for signs that course completion will not be attainable. If it appears that a student will fall behind in the course work, a decision will be made by the Instructor and EMS Coordinator to move the student to a full term course.
After completion of the course, the student is eligible to test with the National Registry of EMTs. Successful completion of this exam enables the student to apply for and gain employment in the field of EMS.
The EMT Basic course is designed around a core 120 hours of didactic (lecture) and 20 hours of hands-on clinical experience. Our fast track course meets four to five days a week from 9:00am to 5:00pm in order to complete the program in the allotted time.

EMT Basic Refresher Course
Description:
The Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) Refresher Program meets EMT Basic Refresher requirements for the National Registry and Idaho State EMS Bureau. The course consists of 24 hours of didactic lecture and practical psychomotor skills. The course reviews key topics and skills that the provider needs to remain proficient in EMS standards. Our instructors have years of applied experience in the field and are able to effectively impart their acquired knowledge to the student.
The course meets for three 8-hour course sessions. The course is fast-paced and designed to cover required material efficiently within the scheduled time.

EMT Advanced Course
Description:
The Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced (EMT-A) Training Program furthers the student in the EMS career field. The EMT Advanced student builds on the knowledge and skills learned in the EMT Basic course. In addition, students learn to perform advanced treatment skills including: intraveneous access and advanced airway management. EMT Advanced students are further prepared to take on a leadership role to fellow EMTs. The EMT-A is much more likely to develop a career in fire departments, ambulance services, and even emergency rooms and clinics.
The course work is challenging and on-going, yet very rewarding to the EMT. After completion of the course, the student is eligible to test with the National Registry of EMTs. Successful completion of this exam will allow the student to gain employment as an EMT-Advanced.
The EMT Advanced course is designed around a core 110 hours of didactic (lecture) and 30 hours of hands-on clinical experience. Our full-term course meets two nights a week from 6:00pm to 10:00pm in order to accommodate our student's busy schedules.

EMT Advanced Refresher Course
Description:
The Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced (EMT-A) Refresher Program meets the EMT Advanced Refresher requirements for National Registry and the Idaho State EMS Bureau. The course consists of 12 hours of didactic lecture and practical psychomotor skills. The course reviews key topics and skills that the provider needs to remain proficient in current EMS standards. Our instructors have years of applied field experience and effectively translate experience and knowledge for the student.
The EMT-A refresher requires prior completion of the EMT Basic Refresher, for a total of 36 hours of total continuing education time between the two courses. ICEMT schedules these refresher courses to coincide with each other so that they may be completed in succession.
The course meets over the course of two days for 6-8 hours each day. The course is fast-paced and designed to cover required material within the allotted time.

EMT Paramedic Refresher Course
Description:
The Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) Refresher Program meets the requirements for the National Registry as well as the Idaho State EMS Bureau for EMT Paramedic Refresher. The course is 48 hours of didactic and practical psychomotor skills. The course reviews key topics and skills that the provider needs in order to stay current with the ever-evolving EMS standards. Our Instructors have years of applied experience in the field and can effectively pass that experience and knowledge onto the student.
The course meets over the course of six days for 8 hours each day. The course is fast-paced and designed to cover required material within the required amount of time.
